Municipal Court

The Soddy-Daisy Municipal Court convenes in the courtroom of the Municipal Building every Tuesday. Arraignments begin at 4:30 p.m., and regular court at 5:00 p.m. The last Tuesday of the month is traffic court, which begins at 5:00 p.m.

Payment of fines must be made in person or by phone. Payment can be made in cashier checks, money orders, cash, or credit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa). Personal checks are not accepted.

Rules of the Court

Respect the Court’s time by being on time.
Turn off cell phones before entering.
No food, beverages, or chewing gum are allowed in the courtroom.
Tobacco Products and all smoking devices are prohibited.
Do not interrupt others while they are talking.
Address the Judge as “Your Honor.”
Stand when speaking to the Judge.
Maintain courtesy and professionalism towards the Judge, court staff, and attorneys.

Dress Code
Proper Attire

All persons must wear proper and modest attire.
Ensure that your shirt is tucked in.

Prohibited

Avoid wearing shorts, short skirts, or clothing made of spandex material.
Do not wear sleeveless shirts, tank tops, low-cut blouses, or garments made of see-through fabric.
Remove hats, caps, and sunglasses before entering the courtroom.
Do not wear clothing that contains vulgar, offensive, or obscene language or graphics.
